ABOUT

       Neal Ormond is a multidisciplinary artist/designer/engineer synthesizing architecture, mechanical engineering, pyrotechnics, robotics, automotive, graphic design, video design, theatrical design & tech, live remote video compositing and production, A/V, web design, microcontrollers, signage, lighting, and furniture. 

       Born and raised in Aurora, Illinois, Neal graduated from Stanford University in 2001 and founded NAO Design in Palo Alto, California.  He later spent 4 years as Manager of Art and Technology at Publicis, and since 2017 has served as Technical Director of San Francisco Shakespeare Festival.

       He is a recipient of the GW McFarland Award in Design, is the holder of U.S.Patent #8113825 for a "Computer-Controlled Pyrotechnic Matrix Display" and has appeared on TV episodes of MTV's Wildboyz, Discovery Channel's Monster Garage and Daily Planet, and Mojo's GEAR.
